Job Desription- Position- Concrete Finisher

Required skills

Surface Preparation: Align forms (moulds) to precise depths and pitches, compact the sub-base, and sometimes tie reinforcing steel (rebar).
Pouring & Spreading: Direct the pouring of concrete and distribute it evenly using rakes and shovels.
Tool Proficiency: Ability to operate hand and power tools, including screeds, bull floats, power trowels, edgers, and groovers and Apply specific surface finishes like (Broom finish, Edge finish).
Jointing: Cut expansion joints and grooves to prevent random cracking as the concrete cures.
Curing & Sealing: Monitor weather conditions, protect the concrete, and apply curing compounds or sealers to ensure a durable finish.
Repairs: Patch holes, grind down imperfections, and restore older or damaged concrete structures.

Qualifications & Training

Work-Based Qualifications: In the UK, vocational qualifications like the NOCN Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Specialist Concrete Occupations are common for on-site recognition.
Site Certification: A valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card is mandatory for most construction sites.
Experience: Must have 3-5 Year proven experience in construction sites.
